Organizational Structure
 

Directorate of Indigenisation (DOI) will function under DGEME. Technical control will be that of HQ Base Wksp Group. Directorate of Indigenisation has been set up consequent to   transfer of responsibility of Indigenisation from DGQA to DGEME. The aim of the Directorate is to build a strong and reliable indigenous defence production base for manufacture of spare parts / assemblies / sub-assemblies of imported equipment which are not being indigenized by OFB /Defence PSUs.  The Directorate is headed by an Officer of the rank of Brigadier and has its HQ at New Delhi, under the HQ there are four Drawing and Specification Wings (DSWs) co-located at    CQA (SV), Dehu Road, CQAE, Aundh Camp, Pune ,CQA (L), Bangalore and CQA(w) Jabalpur. At HQ level there will be four Indigenisation Committees (ICs) namely IC (Vehicles), IC (Armaments), IC (Electronics) and IC (Engineering Eqpt). Each Indigenisation committee is headed by an Officer of the rank of Colonel.
