Inspections
 

1.        On placement of the Supply Order (S/O) necessary Inspection Instructions and updated drawings will be issued by the concerned DSW to Detachment (Inspection) Base Workshop Group(Quality control) at the earliest.
  
Evaluation of Pilot Sample
 
2.        The aim of development of Pilot sample by the Firm is to ensure that  manufacturing process and necessary test facilities as per the relevant specifications are established by the manufacturers before Bulk production is undertaken by them. Actions required to be taken on receipt of Pilot Sample is as under:-

(a)     The Pilot Sample will be submitted by the firm with pre-insp report as   per Inspection Instructions issued. The Pre-Insp report will cover the  following:-

(i)    Dimensional report as per drawing.
(ii)    Material test (Chemical and Physical properties) report of components by NABL / Govt approved labs. 
(iii)   Comparison of performance test report of Depot/ OEM  and Pilot Sample.

(b)     The Pilot Sample will be evaluated for above parameters, including fitment and performance,by respective  Detachments Base Wksp Gp (QC) before issue of bulk production clearance.

Inspection of Bulk
 
1.     Bulk Store will be tendered by the firm well in advance so that store reaches the consignee well within the DP. Inspection of Bulk will be undertaken as given below:-

(a)     Call letter with pre-inspection report is submitted by the firm as and when Bulk is ready for inspection. 
(b)     On receipt of Firm's call letter the inspection of store will be undertaken strictly as per drawing / inspection instructions/ related specifications.  
(c)     Improvement suggested during Pilot Sample evaluation will be checked for its implementation in Bulk. 
(d)     After inspection the store will be kept in Bond room to avoid any mix up.  
(e)     Stores confirming to drawing/specification will only be stamped before dispatch to consignee. 
(f)     Inspection Note will be issued suitably.
