1.         Lieutenant General Rajeev Sabherwal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, Signal Officer-in-Chief and Colonel Commandant, Indian Corps of Signals was commissioned in Dec 1981. He is an alumni of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.


2.         A paratrooper with more than 37 years of distinguished military service, the officer has multifarious operational experience in both conventional and counter terrorism operations. An authority on emerging operational paradigms and technological transformation, he has been instrumental in the ongoing capability development towards Net Centric Capabilities and Information Warfare.


3.         A graduate of Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Higher Command Course, Mhow and National Defence College, New Delhi, the officer has tenanted various command and staff appointments. He commanded a Mountain Division Signal Regiment in active operations and spearheaded communication support to a Strike Corps and Indian Army’s Southern Command as Chief Signal Officer. He steered the policy and doctrine formulations in the modern communication battlespace as Additional Director General Tactical Communications in Signals Directorate. In addition, the officer has also served twice in the prestigious Military Operations Directorate.


4.         A luminary with an astute understanding and penchant for Tactical Communications, he is helping shape the future ICT landscape within India. An avid reader, he has also authored several articles in renowned publications. For his services beyond the call of duty, the officer has been awarded Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal in addition to various other honours and awards.


5.         He took over as Signal Officer-in-Chief of Indian Army in Aug 2018 and as the standard bearer of the Corps, is steering transformational changes inherent to the Digital Battlefield across entire spectrum of conflict.
